Outfit Post: aLphAbeT PaNTs

Today I had a book meeting (YES! more on that soon). Anyway, I felt it appropriate to wear these awesome alphabet pants by Topshop (due in this Autumn/Winter) to let the big wigs know that if I stumble with my spelling all I have to do is look down for divine inspiration. I think it worked!

Tie-dye socks and leopard print watch are a must!

My hair was an attempt at the Hershesons B52 (cryptic, right?!) as demonstrated by the gorgeous and talented Maurice Flynn on a shoot yesterday. Did I nail it?!

The details: Jeans by Topshop AW11, tee from Gap donkey’s ago, Lanvin for H&M tux blazer, boots by Nine West, socks Topshop, bag Pauric Sweeney, watch River Island. Anything else?!

Bleedin’ deadly Irish tees…

There’s nothing like a bit of Irish humour to make me smile, which is why these awesome t-shirts cheered me up no end this morning. With familiar phrases like “Ah Jaysus”, “Bleedin’ Deadly” and “Scarleh” they make you feel like ironic, a bit cheeky and proud to be Dublin Irish! The idea was masterminded by the WhatWillIWearToday sisters! Not nuts about the name-”Plain White T-Shite” (I think I prefer the word shit to shite but maybe that’s just me!) Still, I’d definitely wear one of these bad boys… What would you like to see on them? I’m going for “Give up your aul’ sins” in a proper Moore St Granny’s accent or “Gerrup Ouuvit” in a slightly strained, tracksuit bottom wearing mumble!

Buy them here for €15

I’ll have two please.

I do love a bit of wrist action and while a vintage Rolex or my Mam’s Cartier are the dream, this one’s pretty nifty too! It’s by Longines and Kate Winslet is the new “face” of the watch, imagine the hands moving around her face, how annoying… It’s €5,790 so you might have to skip a few weekend bevs but I reckon it’s worth it!

Talking to Lily Allen for Grazia

A couple of weeks ago I got the chance to interview Lily Allen and her sister, Sarah Owen, while they were in Dublin to launch their debut collection for Lucy in Disguise. The girls were both absolutely lovely, totally sarcastic and giddy in a sisterly way!  See the interview for Grazia here.

Collection available from Brown Thomas and BT2 (Dundrum) x

Outfit Post… rocking rusts

This rust cardigan/coat is my prized possession right now. I nabbed in BT sale at the weekend and have been living in it since, it feels Autumnal and graphic and very AW11 to be fair, oh yes, that’s the justification right there! Green mini satchel is designed by Grazia for River Island and has ace neon orange lining in there just to cheer you up when you’re reaching for the cash…The ear cuff is sourced by me beautiful friend Blanaid and deserves a post of it’s own but consider this an intro!

Cardigan, Opening Ceremony at Brown Thomas, jeans from Warehouse, tee from Topshop, bag from River Island and ear cuff from Shutterbug.

Arizona dreamin’…

Not sure why this feels worthy of the Arizona title… maybe it just reminds me of the Erin Wasson, either way it’s gorgeous! Buy it here

Get your PRINT on…

Never has there been so much print around and so many people willing to embrace it in the catwalk sense. Outrageous prints, clashing colours, banana brilliance and the usual classics in abundance. Here’s a selection of images, mainly taken during Milan fashion week (men’s)… If you haven’t got stuck in to prints already, this should tip you over the edge.

Stuck on Celine & some stylish slippers…

I know I’m on the verge of dribbling on about about Celine’s resort collection but this outfit was made for me. The bib front shirt, the hot pink trousers (I have 2 pairs already, but you can never have enough!), the awesome white platform sandals, lashings of chainmail and some scraggy hair. Beautifully executed!

They’ve also jumped on the pajama wearing vibe that I totally support. Not the flannel, printed pajama/Ugg vibe, this is a tad more refined! Read more about it here but you can jump on the bandwagon with a pair of slippers and feign awareness in a subtle way… below from Christian Louboutin AW11 collection

Celine kisses minimalism goodbye

Pheobe Philo at Celine became the postergirl for the minimalist movement that flooded the catwalks in SS 2010 and continued, in varying degrees, until, well, NOW. Celine has become the one to watch; their bucket bags held by every editor going and their tailoring sported by fashion lovers the world over. Now, however, Philo has stepped away, not completely, from that clean aesthetic to include amazingly strong, statement prints. The fact that, looking through the entire resort collection, there was not 1 thing I wouldn’t wear and love like a child, is saying something for Philo’s staying power. I say, ditch the colour blocking, clash your prints and go wild. Look to Topshop, Zara and River Island Autumn/Winter collections for a cheap take on the trend…
